The use of metal in seating products has a very long history and metal remains very popular as a material of choice for the manufacture of bar stools, dining and restaurant seating as well as more modern lounge furniture and of course high quality ergonomic office seating.

Mass production in the industrial age opened up the possibility of low cost metal seating for all and in the fifties chrome plated metal seating along with newly developed synthetic coverings was considered the epitomy of modernity and available affordably for the first time.

Of course with prices always important to consumers, quality on some low cost seating products can be compromised and given some heavy commercial style usage metal seats can break or fail. Weak spot welds or tube steel which is not of a robust enough guage are common issues. Our metal bar stools come with frames backed by  five year waranties from our suppliers. If you buy a stool that looks like our stools, enquire if this warranty can be matched. Cheap stools can not only fail but they appear light and shoddy and may disappoint compared to these commercial quality offerings.

Many of our metal stools are fifties retro style chrome plated tube steel but we also offer seating made of aluminum which is prized for its light weight, durability and high resistance to corrosion.

Wrought iron is a popular material for both indoor and outdoor seating and we plan to introduce wrought iron styles very soon.
